Bob Mugerwa


Bob is an Agricultural and Rural Development (ARD) expert. Currently retired from active service, he continues private ARD as the Managing Director of Agro Reform Konsult (ARK). He previously worked with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) as a Senior Training Officer managing the World Bank Sponsored Agricultural Research and Training Program.

He was for twelve years, a key player in ARD at Local Governments, as a National Coordinator in the Danida sponsored Agricultural Sector Programme Support (ASPS) where he established the District Agricultural Training and Information Centers (DATICs) in five districts. He also spearheaded the Restoration of Agricultural Livelihoods, in Northern Uganda (RALNUC) Component. In both programmes, conservation agriculture and conservation biology were encouraged.

Bob brings to UBF his expertise in institutional and policy development, strategic planning and project management with his extensive work in the public sector. He got a BSc (Hons) degree specializing in Botany and Zoology (Geology as a first year subject), a background that ingrained him in the love of Biodiversity, of Mother Earth and those living in and on it.

After receiving his MSc in Agricultural Development from the University of London, Bob continued his passion for learning by attending several international trainings in Denmark, Italy, the Philippines, the Netherlands and East Africa focused on agricultural development.
