Projects Manager
Levand Turyomurugyendo is currently the Projects Manager at the Uganda Biodiversity Fund (UBF) where he is applying his past experiences and competences to support UBF in mobilization of funds for managing biodiversity in Uganda as well as coordinate implementation of projects implemented by UBF and partners.
Levand holds a MSc degree in Environment and Natural Resources and a BSc degree in Forestry both obtained from Makerere University. Prior to working with UBF, Levand worked and or carried out consultancies with UNDP, FAO, EAC, ICRAF, NFA, CARE, IGCP, IUCN, MWE, and UWA. Over the years, Levand has professionalized and increased knowledge in issues of Environment, Restoration of Natural Resources and agricultural landscapes, Biodiversity assessment, Climate Change adaptation and mitigation, and Community Development.
He has gained competence in Project Monitoring and Evaluation, value chain analyses, Biodiversity assessments, Forestry Management, Project Proposal Development, and Management of projects under agriculture and natural resources.
Levand has practical skills in field extension and dissemination and is adequately experienced in preparing result-oriented work plans and budgets, establishment of Monitoring and Evaluation system, preparation of reports/briefs and writing papers. He is also experienced in preparing and implementation of environment and social management plans.
