Emily is a co-founder of the Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda, it’s an organization that’s dedicated to promoting heritage. She served the same organization as Executive Director for 14 years and retired in 2019. She asserted that as an “organization, we were involved in conservation, linking culture and nature, and we ran a program on culture and conservation of the chimpanzees”. Emily serves on three different boards including the Grants Committee of the UBF currently.
She is a specialist in cultural heritage, especially intangible cultural heritage. Of late, she has been involved in climate change. Currently, she is conducting a monitoring and evaluation consultancy on a project that is looking at climate change resilience, and the impacts of climate change on heritage specially built heritage.
